Stone Light

Work and family are leaving me little time for photography these days, but to keep the flow going, here’s a random image from a couple weeks ago:


This is not a leveled-off, squared-up, perspective-controlled archictectural shot, nor is it meant to be. I was playing with framing the church to create motion between the corners of the image, simultaneously balancing the bright and slightly warm stone façade with the cool blue sky. The Japanese maple at bottom adds a whimsical bit of nature to an otherwise severe and artificial subject.
